Since 1980 Ganz has manufactured 20 nuclear power plant fuel handling machines for VVER-440 and VVER-1000 Soviet/Russian pressurised water reactors.

The machines are designed for moving the nuclear heating elements in accordance with the energy production technology. Developments over the past more than 30 years have been primarily focussed on increasing safety and reliability of the machines, decreasing the moving times and extending the maintenance cycles. As a result of these developments the costs of safe energy production fall and the annual production capacity increases.

The construction complies with the requirements of the NUREG and ANSI standards. The components built into the fuel handling machines are exclusively supplied by the world’s cutting edge companies with comprehensive nuclear power plant references, e.g. Stromag, Lenze, SEW–EURODRIVE and Honeywell.
